A Star in the Classroom: Southern Values & ABC 13 Shine a Light on January’s Classroom Hero

Continuing the tradition of ABC 13’s “Classroom Hero” program, we’re thrilled to recognize Mrs. Kathryn Sharpe as our January 2024 honoree! This dedicated teacher in the Heart of Virginia truly goes above and beyond for her students.

January’s Classroom Hero

Mrs. Kathryn Sharpe, a 6th-grade math teacher at Sandusky Middle School, is our January 2024 Classroom Hero! For the past 13 years, Mrs. Sharpe has instilled a love of math in countless students. Eight of those years have been spent with Lynchburg City Schools, all at Sandusky Middle School. Her passion for education extends beyond the classroom as she also coaches the Middle School girl’s volleyball team.
