After Prom Grand Finale, 2019 – YOVASO
First Team is always honored to support our community’s youth, and to support anything that prevents drug and alcohol related accidents and injuries.
The 31st annual After Prom Grand Finale was held on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the Salem Civic Center. The Youth of Virginia Speak Out About Traffic Safety (YOVASO) Advisory Board sponsors the After Prom Grand Finale (APGF) as an extra incentive for students to attend and stay until the end of their school’s after-prom party.
To encourage participation in after-prom parties, each year First Team donates a brand new car to the winning student. In order to be eligible for the car, the student must attend their school’s after-prom, and be present at the After Prom Grand Finale.
Congratulations to Brianna Hodges, a Junior at William Byrd High School, who won the 2019 Nissan Kicks donated this year by First Team Nissan in Roanoke, VA. The Hodges are a Nissan family and love their Murano as well as their new Kicks!
This year, over 5,251 students from 40 high schools across Southwest Virginia made the safe choice to stay until the end of their school’s after-prom party. That is more than 5,251 youth who made it home safely to their families after one of the biggest and most dangerous nights of their young lives. First Team is proud to be a part of this fantastic and important event.
